Essential Functions
The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive nursing care, executes physician's orders, dispenses and administers medications, performs examinations and treatment of patients. Following is a partial list of duties:
· Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs
· Prescribe drugs and other forms of treatment within the scope of licensure
· Recommend methods of improving operational efficiency and cost effectiveness of health-related services
· Audit pharmacy use for adherence to formulary, as directed or required.
· Provide health counseling and health education on individual or group basis, as required
· Facilitate, where applicable, NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation of the medical program by providing the required level of efficiency and approved, appropriate medical services.
The working hours are Monday thru Friday approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A 4 day 10 hour schedule may be available (subject to approval).
Requirements: - Graduate from an accredited college or university’s nursing program
- Current Arizona Licensure and/or certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 1 year of professional nursing experience 4) Accept on call status (usually handled by phone)
